Using Present Tense
These terms are an agreement between you and Sentence Labs ("we", "us") for using Present Tense. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them. If you do not agree, do not use Present Tense.
Who can use it
Access is by invitation during the beta. You must be at least 18 years old and give us accurate information. You are responsible for your account and for keeping access to your email secure, since sign-in links are sent there.
The beta
Present Tense is in beta. Access is by invitation and free, and we may set limits such as how many people can watch a session. Features may change, break, or be removed, and access may be limited or ended. We will tell you about significant changes.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you present. You give us only the licence we need to deliver it to your audience and run the service — to relay it, hold it in memory for the life of the session, and reconstruct it for viewers. That licence ends when the session ends.
You are responsible for having the right to present what you present, and for what you show your audience.
Acceptable use
Do not use Present Tense to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harm others. In particular, do not present illegal content, malware, or phishing; do not capture pages you are not allowed to; do not try to access sessions or accounts that are not yours; do not disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service; and do not resell access.
We may suspend or end access that breaches these rules or puts the service or others at risk.
Availability
We work to keep Present Tense running, but the beta comes with no uptime guarantee and may be unavailable for maintenance or because of a fault. Session content is held only for the life of a session and is not kept afterwards; if a session drops, it cannot be replayed.
Our property
The service, the Present Tense name and marks, and the software behind it are ours or our licensors'. These terms give you no rights to them beyond using the service as described here.
Liability
Present Tense is provided "as is" during the beta. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (during the beta, nothing) or INR 5,000.
Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Ending your use
You can stop using Present Tense at any time and delete your account. We can suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, or to protect the service or other people.
When your access ends, we delete your account data as described in our privacy policy, except where we are required to keep it by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for material changes, tell account holders by email. Continuing to use Present Tense after a change means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction — subject to any mandatory rights you have where you live.
