Install it

Install from the Chrome Web Store for one-click updates, or download the latest build as a zip. Both run the same capture code.

The zip is rebuilt with every release and can be newer than the store version between releases.

Installing from the zip

   Download and unzip

   Save the file above and unzip it to a folder you'll keep.

   Open your extensions page

   Go to chrome://extensions, or edge://extensions in Edge.

   Turn on Developer mode

   The toggle is in the top right of that page.

   Load unpacked

   Click Load unpacked and choose the unzipped folder — the one containing manifest.json.

   Pin it

   Click the puzzle icon in your toolbar and pin Present Tense, so it's one click away.

Present a tab

Create a session in the console to get a join link. Then open the tab you want to show, click the Present Tense icon, pick the session, and start. Share the join link — your audience watches in their own browser.

What it can see

Nothing until you start presenting. Then only the tab you chose, and only while you present. Passwords and email fields are always masked, and your other tabs are never read. The toolbar badge reads REC while capture is live.

About the store listing

The Chrome Web Store listing is verified and live. It is unlisted: anyone with the link can install it, but it does not appear in the store's search. Installing from the store keeps the extension updated automatically; the zip above is the freshest build and may run ahead of the store release.
